To ensure the Foundation’s policies and practices best
represent the interests of its educational beneficiaries, the
Foundation specifies in its Articles of Organization that a
majority of its Board of Directors must be representatives of
organizations eligible for Foundation support. The majority of
the Board of Directors, then, is comprised of individuals who
serve, or have served, as directors, officers, key employees, or
in leadership roles in organizations that fall within the
Foundation’s defined class of charitable beneficiaries. In
addition, all members of the Foundation’s Governance Committee,
which nominates new board members, are representatives of
educational organizations.
