Current Activities
Building a Knowledge Base
In partnership with Jobs for the Future,
our intermediary, we’re gathering
research on the rationale for and
systems implications of student-centered
approaches to learning.
Emerging
Fields
Through grants to districts, schools and
programs, we’re making important
discoveries about what works in
competency-based approaches to student
progression.
Work to Date
The Research & Development initiative
has partnered with the Center for
Collaborative Education on its
“Building Quality Performance
Assessments” initiative. This investment
has already yielded two critical reports
identifying the role of assessment in
shaping learners’ experience.
