On January 11th, at a press conference held at the Connecticut State Department of Education (CT DOE), Education Commissioner Mark McQuillan announced that Connecticut will be the 5th state to join the New England Secondary School Consortium, which is funded by the Nellie Mae Education Foundation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
The announcement came as part of a three-part announcement from the CT DOE, promoting it as one of three initiatives that will improve student achievement in the state.
